But did you know that they have a unique adaptation that allows them to stay underwater for up to 15 minutes? Beavers have a special membrane that covers their eyes while they swim, acting as a natural pair of goggles. This membrane also helps them see clearly in murky waters, making it easier for them to find food and navigate their surroundings. Additionally, beavers have the ability to close their nostrils and ears to prevent water from entering while they dive. This remarkable adaptation not only aids in their survival but also allows them to be efficient builders and maintainers of their aquatic homes. ### Beavers Story Time Title: The Busy Beavers Part 1: The Beaver Family Mr. and Mrs. Beaver lived in a cozy den with their two children, Benny and Bella. They were a hardworking family and always kept themselves busy building dams and collecting food. Part 2: The Dam Disaster One day, while Mr. Beaver was busy building a new dam, he accidentally knocked over a tree and it fell on top of the dam, causing it to break. The rushing water flooded their den and the beaver family had to quickly swim to safety. Part 3: A New Home With their den destroyed, the beaver family had to find a new place to live. They searched high and low until they stumbled upon an abandoned beaver lodge. It was perfect! It had plenty of rooms and a big pond right next to it. Part 4: The Perfect Pond Benny and Bella were overjoyed to have a new pond to swim in. They spent all day playing and splashing in the water. Mrs. Beaver even found some delicious water plants for dinner. Part 5: The Uninvited Guests One day, while the beaver family was enjoying their new pond, they heard a loud noise. They turned around to see a group of ducks waddling towards them. The ducks had heard about the perfect pond and wanted to move in! Part 6: A Tricky Plan Mr. Beaver came up with a plan to get the ducks to leave. He told them that the pond was actually cursed and anyone who lived there would turn into a beaver. The ducks were terrified and quickly flew away, never to return. Part 7: A Surprise Visit One day, the beaver family received a surprise visit from their distant relatives, the otters. They were amazed by the beaver’s new lodge and pond. They even brought their favorite game, log sliding, to share with the beavers. Part 8: The Great Log Slide The beavers and otters had a blast log sliding together. They laughed and cheered as they slid down the slope and into the pond. It was the most fun the beavers had in a long time. Part 9: A Happy Ending The beaver family had found a new home and made new friends. They were grateful for the dam disaster that led them to their perfect pond and new adventures. From that day on, they lived happily ever after, always keeping busy and having fun together. The end. ### More Coloring Pages! Looking for some unique crayons? Check out Crayon Rocks.
