Psalm 139 Coloring Pages

Psalm 139, the best-known verses: four free coloring pages for verses 1, 13, 14 and 23, in the King James words. Each sheet sets the verse in big hollow letters inside a decorative frame, with bold kids' frames and finer adult frames.

Psalm 139 is a psalm of David about how fully God knows each person. It opens, "O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me." Verse 13 says God formed us in our mother's womb, and verse 14 gives the much-loved line "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Here "fearfully" carries the sense of awe and wonder. Verse 23 turns the psalm into a prayer: "Search me, O God, and know my heart."

Verse 14 is a favorite for children, and a good starting point for talking about how each of us is made with care. The set also suits a baby shower, a nursery wall or a birthday card. Adults may like verse 23 for quiet time or a journal page.

For color, try a rainbow of different shades for verse 14, one for each word, and calm blues and purples for the prayer in verse 23.
