Romans 5:8 Coloring Pages

Four free Romans 5:8 coloring pages with the King James words in big hollow letters inside a decorative frame. Two sheets come in a bold kids' style, and two in a finer adult style with more room for shading and pattern.

Paul wrote the letter to the Romans to the Christians in Rome. In chapter 5 he points out that people would hardly die even for a good man, and then sets God's love against that.

"Commendeth" means shows or proves. The verse says God showed how much he loves us because Christ died for us before we were good, while we were still doing wrong. A child can understand it simply: God loved us first, not because we earned it.

Reds and warm pinks suit the word "love," and a cross or heart sketched in the corner of the frame can make it a page for Easter or Valentine's Day. In a class, this verse leads naturally into talking about loving others first, the same way God did.
