Matthew 5:16 Coloring Pages

Four free Matthew 5:16 coloring pages with the King James words in big hollow letters and a decorative frame. Two are bold and simple for younger kids, and two have finer detail for older children and adults.

Jesus said these words in the Sermon on the Mount, teaching his disciples on a mountainside. Just before it he tells them, "Ye are the light of the world," and says nobody lights a candle only to hide it under a bushel basket.

The verse means that when we are kind and do good things, other people notice, and it points them toward God. Our good deeds are like a light that others can see.

Yellow, orange and gold work well for the word "light," with the rest of the letters in cooler colors so it stands out. Once the sheet is finished, tape it in a sunny window. A Sunday-school class can turn it over and list three small good works to try during the week.
